What to do Before, During & After your Consultation
Before Consultation
In your Space
- Sit in a quiet & private room with No noise or distractions.
- Have good lighting in the room.
- Have a comfortable chair and desk to write on.
- Pen & Paper.
With your Phone
- Have enough battery charge on your phone or device.
- Sufficient data on your phone or device.
- Position your device camera to show your face and shoulders.
About your Person
- Write down your questions.
- Get a helper (family or trusted friend) especially if you have a disability.
- Proper dressing (appropriate and comfortable).
- Easy to manage clothing, for example if you have a wound on your arm, it is easier to show, if wearing short sleeves.
- If appointment is scheduled, please be on time, introduce yourself and /or helper.
- Full attention is important, for example please, no eating, watching tv, cooking and so on.
- Sometimes your concerns cannot be fully addressed, in such cases you might be referred for a face-to-face consultation in the hospital.
About your Health & Medical Readiness
- Have available, any relevant medical records & Test results.
- Current medications.
- Thermometer, blood pressure & blood glucose records.
- Drinking water.
- List of your symptoms & concerns.
- Try to have a clear idea of what questions you want to answered.
During Consultation
- Answer all questions to verify your name, date of birth, and state you are calling from.
- Inform us of any challenges you may have e.g. visual, hearing or technical issues.
- Describe your symptoms.
- Summarise reasons why you want medical consultation.
- Ensure your room is set up with your privacy and no distractions.
- All consultations will be recorded and deleted after a month.
- For trouble shooting in case of technical issues – we may call you or ask you to call us, or reschedule the consultation.
After Consultation
- After the consultation, you will receive a summary of the consultation, any prescriptions, requested lab tests, or referral letter through WhatsApp.
- If you have agreed to a follow-up, an appointment will be made by your doctor, you can also arrange one yourself.
- You can send results back to the doctor by uploading them from your gallery.
- Save and keep your information secure and private – please provide feedback immediately following the consultation in order for us to provide the best professional advice and experience.
